Going to the movies can be expensive. Full price for two adults, at the VIP theatre and you’re looking at almost fifty dollars – just for the tickets. Add at least twenty more if you want popcorn, drinks, appys or alcoholic beverages. Taking the kids? That ups the price even more!
Quick tip: If you collect Scene points with Scotiabank debit, redeeming for a movie is 1,000 points for an adult whether you are going to a regular theatre, or the VIP. You might as well go to the VIP.
Here are three ways that you can cut the costs of Movie tickets:
Buy Ticket Vouchers at Costco
For $24.99 you can get ticket vouchers at Costco that include admission for two adults ($7 more if you want to go to the VIP theatre at Windermere) Plus a Popcorn and two drinks. You can order the movie tickets from Costco online and get different varieties of tickets including kids ticket packages for admission and a kids snack in the theatre.
Use Shoppers Drug Mart Promotions
Shoppers Drug Mart has promotions where you can spend $75 in-store and get two free movie tickets. If you are going to buy things anyway, at Shoppers Drug Mart, you might as well take advantage of the special promotions.
Collect Scene Points
With Scotiabank debit, you can earn scene points for all of the purchases you make. Plus, there are some games you can play through iOS that can snag you up to 1,000 scene points at a time, during special promotions. That’s a free movie! Using debit cards, we usually earn enough for a couple of free movies a month – making it worthwhile for us, since it cuts the costs of date night. Use the Scene Visa to collect points even quicker.
