Eating in restaurants with the kids is usually something that I would rather skip. Most often, it means trying to keep the kids sane/quiet until the food comes, ssh the screaming and hold down Violet with the force of a straight jacket because she wants to run around rather than sit in the high chair, or on your knee, or in the stroller… or anywhere.
For this reason, we’ve made the switch to quick places to grab some lunch. For me, I want quick service, good food and places that don’t have fries. I want places where I am not going to get sideways glances when the kids screech because the other one dare touched their straw.
Tip: Want the benefits of juicing without the effort? Skip the juicer and grab a Fresh Healthy Cafe Menu. A couple of months ago when a friend and I were on a juicing kick, I ditched the juicer after day two and made a couple of daily trips here instead. Easy peasy fit into your shorts squeezy.
Fresh Healthy Cafe (4005 Clover Bar Road, Sherwood Park) is in our neighborhood and a quick and easy place to bring the girls. They adore the grilled cheese panini and fresh squeezed juice (usually sharing a meal and nibbling on my sandwich). At $4.99 the kids meal with the grilled cheese panini and 12 oz. juice is a pretty fantastic deal – especially for real juice. It’s usually around $17 for the kids meal, another wrap or sandwich and extra juice.
While you’re waiting for the food you can take a look around at the art on the walls, crawl on the twirly orange chairs or let the kids walk around the space, since it’s nice and large. For older kids, there are games. Mine are still at the age where they’re just going to eat all of the pieces (because they’re not always blowing kisses at each other).
