We were given a run for our money when it came time to bring Violet home from the hospital. It took us a while to find our groove with the new baby, an almost-three-year old and a Mom that worked from home. Once we found the right balance for us though, we nailed it – and learned a few things along the way.
You Need Time-Saving Products: Avent Naturals Essentials Kit
At-home during the day with the kids, I am outnumbered. While both of them are crying, angry and upset and there are other things that need to be taken care of around the house, I need to save time.
The AVENT Natural Essentials Set has the convenient items you’re going to need, like the microwave sterilizer that can sterilize four bottles in under two minutes. With four bottles, a bottle brush for easy cleaning, and two soothie pacifiers, the kit is a must-have for second time Moms.
The kit contains one of my favorite baby products, the soothie. Talking with Moms in our group, this is the one soother that Moms feel comfortable using and the one that was recommended to us every single time. They’re easy to sterilize, BPA free and promote natural oral development.
How can AVENT Naturals Essentials Kit Save you Time?
- The easy to use sterilizer ensures bottles are going to be not only cleaned but sterilized, in under two minutes
- The kit contains everything that you’re going to need for those first days home, from the bottle brush to the soothies
- The wide mouth bottles make it easy to pour pumped breastmilk without the stress of spilling it
- The AVENT naturals bottles are comfortable to hold, and easy for older infants to grasp on to
- The nipples are clearly marked with the stages, taking the guess work out of whether you’re choosing the right nipples from the bottle storage
- The Sterilizer is compact and easy to store
Finding a Routine Takes Time
Finding a routine with a new baby in the mix, and our toddler was tricky. It took me months to find the balance between the kids, working from home and getting into a groove that works for us. Months and months, and months. We tried new things, until we found a schedule that worked for us. If something wasn’t working, change it and try something new.
Get Walking, Running, Biking
Though I was overwhelmed with going out with both of the girls, we started small with trips to the park and the library. Start small, but make sure that you are getting out of the house. Getting out for a brisk walk, run around the playground or a bike ride right after breakfast, it made the rest of the morning so much easier with a toddler under foot.
By the time you have your second child, you’ve probably been through a lot of the questions that you had the first time around and know the answers. The calls to health link are less frequent and you’re a lot better at taking the unsolicited advice from family members and strangers – so much so, that you can just ignore the tips and tricks they’re sharing and go with what is right for your family.
You Don’t Need to Clean All of the Things, All of the Time
This was one of the most important things that I think I learned going from one to two children and working from home. There were days that I drove myself crazy trying to keep everything tidy, organized and cleaned. When we were just getting used to having a second child around. Try and create a schedule of a couple of things each day to tackle, it makes the workload a lot easier when you’re running after a toddler and attached to an infant.
Rock Paper Scissors is a Valid Way to Divide Tasks
Family members may make fun of Jamie and My way of divvying up who is changing the poo-diaper or running after the kid that has decided to take off while the rest are playing but it works – and when you’re on a winning streak? Best feeling ever.
From what I hear, going from two to three children is much easier. Finding the right balance, timing between kids and mix of the right products are three tricks I intend to use to make the transition as easy as possible next time around. What are some of the ways you made the transition easier, second time Moms?
