With all the kids getting back to school today, the kids to play with in the neighborhood were few and far between. I needed to find something to occupy Olivia to avoid hearing ‘I’m bored’ because all of the kids are gone back to school and daycare.
Two Ingredient Puffy Sidewalk Paint
1 cup flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
Mix the ingredients together, well. I used the hand mixer to make sure that everything was combined. It will be thick. Divide into six to eight cups and add 6-8 drops of food coloring per cup (Leave one white for fun color mixing).
Tip: Let the kids pick the colors and experiment with different creations.
The paint dries puffy on the sidewalk, helped along by the sun, but will still wash away with the rain. When it dries, the salt makes it kind of shimmer in the sunlight, adding even more fun to watching the masterpiece get finished on the sidewalk mural.
As an added bonus, she agreed to go for a nap until the paint dried and she could come back outside and look at it. I foresee this as something we are going to make a lot in the future. The texture was a fun change from our regular sidewalk chalk paint.
