Pumpkin and apples – two of the staples of fall around here when it comes to comfort food, desserts and baking. This easy recipe for apple pie salsa is simple when you use the Breville All in One to chop the apples. You can prepare the rest of the recipe, and even have it finished cooking and ready to serve hot or warm, in under fifteen minutes.
It’s the perfect add-on for a dinner with friends, after-dinner snack with cinnamon buns and cinnamon pita chips. Serve it with a latte (who am I kidding? wine.) and you’re in for a comforting end to the meal.
Apple Pie Salsa
Six apples, peeled and chopped (I used the Breville All in one to save time)
2 tsp lemon juice.
3 tbs brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs butter
Add the chopped apples, butter, brown sugar and cinnamon to a sauce pan. Cook on medium for 10-12 minutes until apples are softened. Stir often, let cool and serve warm, or save for later (like to bring to a dinner with friends). It’s easy, can be served with cinnamon pita chips and makes for an easy and non-traditional dessert option. It’s also one of the favorite dishes for the girls to have with breakfast, over oatmeal or to top ice cream.
