We went shopping for Halloween costumes and we found all three at Value Village. If you were in Sherwood Park last night browsing through Value Village then you heard the excited screams coming from the Costume aisle of Olivia’s “I’m so excited!’ and the course of choices that went from a zombie ragdoll, to a unicorn and finally she decided on Princess Jasmine (for her Halloween party hosting gig) and an Astronaut (for trick or treating).
Did you know that there are racks, and racks and shelves, and shelves of Halloween costumes at Value Village? I didn’t. Did you know that they’re new? I didn’t. Ranging in price between $16 and $24, the prices were average but we were able to find a few costumes and accessories that I hadn’t seen at other stores. Costumes, accessories, a Mom sized Cinderella Dress and Halloween decorations were some of the thrift finds we found.
Violet’s leopard costume was $16.99 and Olivia’s were both $24. Not thrifting cheap – but let’s face it, they’re new and cute and it’s not like the Princess Jasmine one is ever going to have the chance to get hung up. That Disney costume is going to be in the rotation for full on play for the next year.
VV Boutique Style would be so proud, I found a Mexx shirt, and an Anne Taylor loft shirt for $5.99/each. Announcement: I have broken my thrifting virginity. I don’t know if it’s going to be more than a one night stand – but I’ve done it!
Tip: it was close to the Halloween pop-up store, but without the crazy Halloween prices. We stopped in at Value Village before heading over to the Halloween store to look for a Zombie baby to add to our collection.
