Today has been one of those days. It started off innocent enough with Violet sleeping in and Olivia crafting beside me while I got a start on the morning work. I was even able to cross four of the twelve things off of my ‘to clean before we have a playdate this afternoon list’.
Then diapers were ripped off and there was pee on the floor. While I was cleaning the pee someone spilled apple juice all over the keyboard – amazing, since the apple juice is not allowed near the keyboard.
There was yelling, a lot of yelling (sorry neighbors, sorry kids)
There was also some ranting.
There was also a phone call made to Jamie with the preface of I am just calling you to rant I do not want your input, you are listening – that’s all.
He is not very good at that.
He decided to phone parent and explain to me that obviously the kids should not have had the apple juice near the computer and if I didn’t want them to make a mess of the Halloween stuff I shouldn’t have let them convince me to bring it out five weeks before Halloween.
Phone parenting is so easy. It makes me envious of his skills. Needless to say that I hung up on him and went back to typing on the sticky, apple juice infused keyboard.
Then, after talking to someone who gets it, obviously a Mom, I breathed, breathed and pictured the kids getting eaten by Llamas (because it’s funnier than a camel because llamas are inherently hilarious).
