It’s cold and flu season – also known as, your Mom is going to make you wash your hands 90x times more often than in the hot summer weather season. Around here, the kids are polar opposite when it comes to hand washing. Violet (1) loves the foaming soap, the chance to get up at the sink and get all in, every single time.
On the other hand, hand washing with Olivia (4) kind of goes like this-
Me: Okay Olivia, go wash your hands
Violet runs to the bathroom to wash her hands, Olivia stares me down waiting for me to withdraw my request
Her: They’re clean, see?
Me: Olivia, Go wash your hands!
Olivia: Ughhhhhhhhh. Fine
Goes to the bathroom. Comes back, hands dry and hands behind her back
Me: Olivia, did you wash your hands?
Me: Get back here, let me touch/smell your hands
See, this is where soaps like Magic Melon come in handy (you can totally smell the melon!)
Her: No, I’m not ready yet.
Finally, finally goes and washes her hands
Kandoo Foaming Hand Soap
Magic melon hand soap comes out foamy and bright green. If anything will get a toddler into the bathroom it’s bright green hand soap, right? It worked, I got her into the bathroom and there was less of a whine-fest when it came time to wash her hands.
The Magic Melon scent helps me to know if she’s actually cleaned her hands (using more than water) and the bright green foam helps her to make sure she’s gotten to all of those forgotten parts, like the back of her hands and in between her fingers.
Having fun soap in the bathroom does indeed help her to want to wash her hands. In fact, I’ve gone in to impromptu hand washing more than ever lately – and they adore the foaming soap, fun color and I adore anything that gets those hands washed without an argument.
