I often what our parents did without the internet. I mean, how did they know what chicken pox looked like? How did they quickly search for an elevated temperature when the batteries in the red light thermometer were dead and the good-old, under the arm one was all that they had? What if they were lost? How did they find the closest place to get slushies when you were out riding bikes with the kids?
Making Life Easier with the Yellow Pages App
Yes. In case you were wondering, these are all real things that I’ve searched for at one time or another. Now, with a phone in hand you can find me using it for everything from searching for directions to a new playground we can discover, finding the lowest price for gas, and even finding free activities that we can do on a weekend full of fun. Finding the directions to the list of the eight new parks we want to discover on our summer bucket list, or finding the lowest price for gas just got easier with the new Yellow Pages app.
It’s True – There’s An App for That
The new Yellow pages app gives you information at your fingertips. Over the course of the past couple of weeks I’ve used it to find directions to a facial appointment in South Edmonton Common, search for the lowest price to fill up the car, and reverse look up the two phone calls that I missed without calling back flustered, unsure of who I was talking to.
Easy to navigate, you can find the lowest prices for gas with the simple click of a button to your ‘current location’ on your phone. That way, whether we’re close to home or whether we’re half way across the city I can find the best price without having to actually search the internet. It’s glorious. Also, if you were wondering – Costco always seems to be the lowest.
The Yellow Pages App knows me well – as you can scroll down and find some of the local deals near you. It reminded me that the $2.50 movie this weekend was the Tooth Fairy, and reminded me that as always, the movie tickets were the best prices at Costco. It let me know that there is free admission to the Art Gallery, every Thursday night. Also, it found me a deal for a $25 wash, cut and blow dry. They’re easy to find – you can scroll down the app to find a wide range of deals.
Speaking of movies, you can find the closest theatres to you using the app. Click on ‘Leisure’, than ‘movie theatres’ and you’ll find the list of the closest theatres. We’ve got a kid-free weekend right around the corner, so I’m excited to give this one a try when we’re out of town.
