Saving money at-home is as simple as learning the short cuts to delicious recipes made from scratch. When you stop buying those jarred foods and other things, you realise that you’re paying for convenience – and you’re paying a lot for it.
Salsa is one of those things that pales in comparison when you consider jarred and fresh. Fresh salsa is full of flavor, fresh tastes and can be made in under sixty seconds when you have the right ingredients on hand.
Easy Sixty Second Salsa
2 cups of grape or cherry tomatoes
1 small jalepeno
1/8 red onion
juice from 1/4 lime
pinch of salt
handful of cilantro
Remove the seeds from the jalepeno and roughly chop the onion into large pieces.
Place all of the ingredients into the food processor and pulse 5-6 times until everything has been chopped and combined.
As an alternative to using fresh cilantro, you can use the refrigerated cilantro in a tube. We keep a tube in the fridge for fresh salsa because a lot of the time it seems that our favorite store to shop at runs out of cilantro late in the evening.
