A couple of weeks ago, someone delightful showed up on our doorstep. Her gorgeous dress and shawl was the first thing that Olivia noticed when she found this gorgeous baby on our doorstep. On that rainy day, I pulled her out of her package and placed her on the doorstep before ringing the bell, creating a bit of magic on the rainy day.
She was without a name, and had the most lovely handmade features, a golden crown, leggings, a beautiful soft shawl and a satin dress. Immediately, Olivia took her in her hands as I explained that she was special, and that she had to care for her as well as she could – because she was Olivia’s special doll.
Her name is Jane, but here, She’s been donned Amelia. A beautiful name for a beautifully handcrafted doll. Though she’s beautiful, she’s hardy too. On a wednesday, she had a run in with a little sister who gave her some unneeded eyebrows. A bit of rubbing alcohol and the pen was removed – Amelia was back to her beautiful self.
Measuring approximately 21” tall, each doll is sewn using cotton muslin and stuffed with hypoallergenic, sustainable, polyester fiberfill. Their removable clothes are shaped using vintage fabrics and repurposed lace and upcycled salvaged fabric.
Amelia is a handmade doll from Vic and Vie. And, if you’re wondering? She’s at the top of my list this year to give to a little sister who may have been a little too slow at claiming this doll for her own.
