When the weather gets colder, we make pasta more often around here. The delicious sauces, simmering away or baked comfort foods are some of our favorite meals – and the quicker that I can make them, the better. It’s an added bonus if there are leftovers for lunch the next day, so I can skip the prep in the morning and just pack up the leftovers from dinner.
Alfredo sauce is one of my favorites – and something that we used to buy a lot of premade sauces, until I discovered a simple recipe that could be easily made at-home, in minutes, and a recipe that I knew exactly what was going into the ingredients.
Fifteen Minute One Pan Easy Alfredo Bake
half cup butter
one cup heavy cream
two cups parmesan
juice of 1 one lemon
pinch of pepper
First, put the pasta on to cook. You can use your choice, or whatever is in the pantry.
Melt the butter in a heavy bottom pan. Add the lemon juice, and the heavy cream. Whisk for three to five minutes and add cooked pasta and parmesan.
Toss, and serve, or top with additional parmesan and broil on low for five minutes until golden brown.
Versatile for Dinner
Serve it with salad, garlic bread and your choice of vegetable for a simple dinner that you can get on the table in five minutes. Our girls prefer broccoli with the alfredo sauce when it comes to vegetables – but will eat the salad that goes along with it (except for the purple lettuce).
To mix it up a little, you can add cajun seasoning, for delicious cajun alfredo or serve the sauce with zucchini noodles. You can mix half alfredo sauce with half traditional tomato sauce for a delicious rose sauce, and stash it in the freezer for the next time you’re looking for a quick and easy meal (though it’s just as simple to make it fresh!)
