What’s a family to do on a Sunday when the pancakes have been devoured and a quick trip to Costco has been completed, and extra mittens for the colder weather have been purchased?
Join Us, We’re Taking Back Sunday Funday
Sunday afternoons, usually they bring the same thing. We could go swimming at the local pool, we could take the kids to the mall or we could go to one of the many indoor playgrounds – all of which has kind of lost it’s appeal and it’s only been a month into the colder weather.
Join us and take back Sunday Funday. Do something adventurous. Explore something that you’ve never seen before. Learn a new skill. Get out there and out of your comfort zone.
Take a Cue from ‘The Land’
We are going to venture to one of the closest ‘woods’ where Dad used to play when he was little and we’re going to bring some snacks and build a fort. With sticks, branches, and random things that we find in the forest. Maybe we’ll bring a hammer for the kids to bang on fallen branches. Maybe we’ll bring some paper to craft a plan in the woods. Maybe we’ll find something spectacular on a cold fall day in the woods.
Try something different today. Get out there in the forest and give the kids an experience that you had when you were little. Create a little nostalgia and blow their minds with your fort building skills that have likely been in hiding for twenty years. Create some excitement that the bright colored indoor play structures are never going to have.
