You know how once in a while you find a toy that brings hours and hours of entertainment? And then you learn that it’s one of the most affordable toys on your Christmas list? You can thank B. Toys and Pop Arty for that.
Have I mentioned how much I love toys that come in their own container? Clean up is made simple when the toys come in a sturdy container that’s going to hold up to months and months of play.
Necklaces, bracelets, rings – even belts have been made with Pop Arty and it’s only been opened on the table for a couple of hours. The kids are working together, trading beads (with minimal screaming) since I sorted them into a pile, and I love the fact that the beads are large enough that they’re not going to get sucked up in the vacuum, but small enough that they’re all going to fit nicely into their container.
The fun textures and different styles of beads are a great for small fingers, and together we created baubles and bracelets with the included bracelets and rings. It was something that occupied both of the girls, something that we could play with together, and even create patterns. A lot of fun and a little bit of learning – that’s one of my favorite combinations in toys.
Olivia created jewelry that was inspired by the included booklet, and Violet was creating bracelets with the included pieces like the bracelet and rings. Olivia created patterns, while Violet grabbed pieces and worked on piecing them together, learning that she needed a piece with a connector on the end to keep the chain going.
The Learning – Oh the Learning
While we were sorting the beads into colors, with Violet, Olivia was making a pattern. She demonstrated two patterns for us that she recently learned in Kindergarten, with colors and with shapes. She showed me the ‘core’ and my world was rocked by just how much this kid is getting from school.
Shopping for a gift? Recommended for children between the ages of four and ten, I would even go a bit younger as long as the young child was past the stage of putting as much as they can in their mouth. It created some fun one on one play for Violet and I, seeing how long we could make a chain and trying to use all of the Pop Arty beads.
