If you had to narrow the things that Violet likes down to just a handful, cats (or anything cat themed) would be on that list. She’s got an obsession that rivals the way I feel about leggings, so obviously, the Meowsic Keyboard is one of those things that has made her day and hasn’t been put away since she first laid eyes on it.
We’ve been listening to the cat songs ever since. Kids can create their own music, or listen to pre recorded instrumentals, but the cat sounds? Those are Violet’s favorite.
Recommended for ages 2-6, she’s right there in the midst at going-to-be-three-in-march. Large buttons give the option to play already programmed music (singing, or music notes) and the additional microphone brings crazy-cat-lady-turned-rocker in full force, as she can sing along with the creations that she’s made.
The large buttons are easy enough for a two year old to learn (especially if they’ve become familiar with the play button etc. by watching hours of unboxing videos on Youtube).
At two, we focus a lot of durable toys that are going to get a lot of play – and the Meowsic keyboard is one of those toys. It’s been tossed off of the top bunk, it’s fallen down the stairs, it’s been stepped on, slept on and played with for hours. Those batteries? They’re still going.
Entertaining for the kids, a wicked fun design and available at Target, it’s something that would make the perfect last minute addition to the Christmas list (or for a toddler you’re just not sure what to buy).
