Boot shopping makes me stabby – I don’t think that I have giant calves, they’re just not skinny minnies – but stepping into Town Shoes to try and find a pair of knee high boots over the course of the last three months? It’s made me rage-y. Like, tried on ten pairs of boots and not one pair fit my calves kind of rage-y.
I’ve been searching for a pair of boots for at least the last few months and though I was tempted to order from Just Fab online (two pairs of boots for $40) logic prevailed and reminded myself that you get what you pay for and you should buy a pair of boots in-store.
This weekend it came down to finding boots, usual, last minute style because that’s how we roll.
This was the weekend I needed to find a pair of boots for a trip that I’m leaving for on Sunday. Boots are the only way that I was going to be able to continue to wear leggings and tunics, and still be semi-business-casual – and my walking around the neighborhood, going sledding, and running out to the store to grab some watermelon boots? They just weren’t going to cut it. They’re too winter-y for four flights.
Did you know that you can buy boots at Addition Elle? Like boots for phat calves? Boots that fit my calves, with lots of room to spare. Luckily, I found a couple of pairs in-store that fit the bill, and one pair that I fell in love with. The best part? They were 50% off of the sale price, meaning that I paid $115 for a $269 pair of boots.
The leather Sam Edelman boots were a steal at $115 – just for the amount of times that I’m going to wear them through the winter, and the fact that they’re leather, so I’m going to be able to stash them away and wear them next year too. If you’re shopping right now, and boot shopping usually makes you rage, check out the current sale at Addition Elle where you can get 50% off of the sale price.
