There are these chocolate dipped s’mores that find their way into Jamie’s cart when he trades bedtime with going to grab a few things needed for the next day at the store. They’re covered in chocolate, filled with marshmallow and are delicious, s’more goodness.
I think if he could, and if we shopped at Walmart more than once every six months, he would eat them every. single. day.
Chocolate Covered S’more Bars
You need: graham crackers, chocolate for melting, miniature marshmallows
Five minutes at-home, and I made ten delicious chocolate covered s’mores y layering nine miniature marshmallows on a graham cracker and placing under the broiler for just over a minute (watch those marshmallows!) You don’t want them brown, just puffy.
I removed the marshmallow topped graham crackers from the oven, put another cracker on top and used the tempered chocolate to top the entire thing. You could dip them, you could wait for the first half to cool and harden (in the fridge) and do the other, but I didn’t want to use too much chocolate.
If you want to make them really marshmallow-y, instead of waiting and topping with crackers that haven’t been broiled, stick two with marshmallows together, and then cool and cover in chocolate.
He agreed on the amount of chocolate and that they were pretty damn good when he grabbed a second one right before we went to bed.
Tip: Smash one up, and stick it in a scoop of ice cream to make your own smashed s’more ice cream sundae and top with DIY Magic Shell. It’s delicious.
Perfect to satiate his sweet tooth before Valentine’s Day, or to say thank-you for the extra tasks on a honey-do list that I’ve bombarded him with all week, I think this could easily be my go to.
