Over the past few years, we’ve had a literal truck load of toys come through our house. Some of the toys only stayed as long as the kids were occupied with them, then tossed in a bin to donate or pass on to friends and family members – and some toys stayed, were played with for months, or even years, and sanitized, put away in a bin for another child in the future.
Fisher Price Little People are some of those toys. Starting at about nine months, we began a collection for Violet that consisted of every single Little People set, including the farm with obscure animals like a Penguin and an Ostrich. Now, at just over three, her room is a literal minefield of Little People toys, when you walk into her bedroom carrying her back in for the second time that night she’s tried to escape from her bed into your own.
Now, when it comes to gifting for first birthdays, for toddlers, and even for parents that are expecting their first child, we look to the Little People Fisher Price Farm sets. The simple set is not only a staple of childhood, but it brings parents back to their own childhood, encouraging them to relive the joys of playing.
We’ve amassed more than a small hobby farm. We’ve collected enough animals and Little People staff to have a full fledged operation that takes over the seven foot dining room table, a three-year-old’s bedroom and provides hours of imagination and play.
Searching for a go-to toddler gift? Just give them the farm.
