Spring isn’t spring without a mud fight right? Last year, we had a pool in the back yard. This year, it’s blessed us with some mud, covered in grass seed for the kids to play in. Next year, when we’re thinking about moving, we’ll fix it with some sod and make it pretty – but for now, since the pool is going to go right back over it this summer (hello afternoon floating parties with friends) we’re embracing the mud.
Or, the kids are.
This week, a box arrived in the mail with a couple of summer necessities, new water guns. The kids immediately opened it and found the above Tri Threat soaker (find it on Amazon), that can shoot out of three nozzles. I ran in the house quickly, because the blaster reaches up to thirty-five feet.
We’ve got a collection of these from last summer. They were a popular choice for birthday gifts, and Olivia received three for her birthday. She was generous, gave one to Violet and it made for some awesome water fights in the backyard. This one is a cool addition and is light enough for Violet (3) to hold on her own, but has a good capacity of water to squirt (25 ounces).
Pro tip: When the kids are playing water guns and you don’t want them tramping through the house or having access to the outdoor tap (that they’ll leave on all day and cause a $200 water bill) fill up a large container of water outside for an easy ‘filling station’.
They got Jamie good, with muddy water – and they were warned that he’s going to get them when they’re not expecting it, with his new Super Soaker.
For summer birthday gifts, I like to grab a few of one thing to give to friends and family members. Olivia’s got a few coming up – and the Nerf Rebelle Tri Threat comes in under our top five gifts to give little girls for summer fun.
