When there’s a red key in the mailbox, it’s serious business. That means there’s a package in there – and when it’s yellow, Violet knows immediately that it’s the Koala Crate, filled with fun activities.
This month featured a musical themed box, that came with everything we needed to learn rhythm and patterns, to create a horn and to create a silk tie for dancing (that she got to dye herself). The first two activities, combined with playing in between took us about forty five minutes, and I stashed away the musical patterns for when she was less distracted, on a morning when Olivia is at Kindergarten.
Her favorite part was dying the silk scarf with the koolaid and it led me to a great craft idea in the future, using multiple colors of koolaid to create a fun activity. One of the things I love most about the Koala Crate is the fact that every time we make something from one of the boxes, we usually end up keeping it around for a while (same with the Kiwi Crate, for older kids)
