Rafting is one of those summer bucket list items that I didn’t think we were going to be able to cross off of our summer bucket list – after all, we’re traveling with a six and a three year old.
Just as we were planning our annual trip to Radium, we learned about Alpine Rafting on the Kicking Horse River. The popular rafting tour company is only an hour from Radium, six hours from Edmonton and three hours from Calgary.
The best part? The family rafting trips are available for families with children over the age of four, meaning that you we don’t have to put off the trip! We can bring Olivia and Violet (next year) along on the adventure.
Alpine Family Rafting
The Family Rafting trip tackles the 13km of the Kicking Horse River in the Yoho National Park and is suited for families, or any group, ages 4+ because of the gentler rapids. The fun trip includes all equipment, transportation to and from the river, wildlife viewing opportunities and a riverside barbecue lunch.
Stay + Raft Packages
Our favorite way to stay in Radium and Golden is to search for vacation rentals, where we’ve often found an entire condo with access to a pool for just over $100/night. If you’re planning a weekend away and aren’t afraid to camp – there are also some great local options. You can choose from the many campgrounds around Golden, or choose a camp + raft package.
SAVE: For a limited time, use the code SUMMERDEAL to save $10 off of any rafting trip, making the affordable cost of $65/adult and $35/child (under 12) saving even more on summer road trips or weekend experiences.
