Hauling kids along is easier when you’ve got the right tools. Hitting the paths on a road trip for a quick bike adventure around your favorite out-of-town loop is slow when you’ve got a three year old on a strider bike – you’re going to need something to haul them around. We’ve were the chance to try the Croozer Kid Plus for 2 and have been impressed the versatility that comes with it.
You can use it as a bicycle trailer. With its resplendent light blue finish, it is also just right as a stylish stroller for when you go shopping. You can also take it with you in its jogger conversion when you go jogging or hiking. The best part? All three kits are included in the price.
You know how there’s a lot of ‘gear’ that you need when you’re hitting the outdoors? We have taken the Croozer Kid Plus For 2 on hikes in Canmore, on day trips to bike around loops and stop and swim in lakes and ponds and we’ve taken for week long camping trips where we’re going to be spending a lot of time on bikes. It hauls two toddlers with ease, and on occasion hauls tired six year olds who have just had enough of being on her own bike.
In addition to the space in the Croozer Kid Plus For 2, there’s the technology that makes it perfect for the trails. Sylomer suspension is as effective for a single baby as it is for two six year olds, it dampens vibrations and makes for an ultra smooth ride. Confession: I would kick one of them out of the trailer, because that would be too heavy! The first rate shock absorption doesn’t bounce, making it a smoother ride, on the bumpiest of trails. You can check out more about the suspension, in this video – it’s incredible!
90% of the time we’re using the Croozer as a bicycle trailer. To do this, we remove the handle bar, with the easy to latch and unlatch D link, attach the axle for the trailer and attach it to our bikes with a simple attachment that’s been fastened to both Jamie’s and mine bikes. This way, switching back and forth between the bikes is a breeze, helpful on those long bike trips (especially when you’ve got a six and a three year old in the trailer).
We stroll with it too. When it’s time to use it to make healthier choices and walk to the grocery store, we attach the front wheel, reattach the hand bar and we’re on our way. A week’s worth of groceries and a three year old fit perfectly in the trailer, with the easy to attach strolling wheel. Our closest grocery store has wide open trailer doors, where we can easily fit through, but for other stores, the Kid Plus for 2 is just a touch to wide to fit through. Usually, in these cases I’ll lock it up at the bike rack while we head inside and shop.
Good bike trailers/3 in 1s, are expensive! At $749.99 it’s a bit of a budget buster – but once you realize how much use is going to come with it, it will help to get over the sticker shock. Three in one, a stroller and trailer that’s functional to use for multiple children and a durable design means that you’re going to be able to use it for years after you purchase it. We’re only on year one, and we’ve used it dozens of times. I can just imagine how much more use we’re going to get out of it with plans to have two more children. From zero to six, four kids – that’s twenty four years of potential use of the Croozer Kid Plus for 2 that’s worth the price tag, right there.
If you’re searching for a bike trailer/stroller/jogger, this Croozer Kid Plus for 2 comes highly recommended from a family that spends most weekends searching for adventure and weekdays using it to cart toddlers back and forth from bus pick-ups, filling it with groceries and hauling kids around on bike to the spray park, playground and more. We’ve biked with the one from Costco, have used this one and the Croozer has appeared the most comfortable for the kids, easiest to fold flat and to quickly switch from one bike to the other.
Croozer is the one we pack up most often because of the fact that it’s so user-friendly, easy to pull behind a bike and quick to change up. The deciding factor for us was the comfort inside, there’s a ton of room (that you pay for with a wider trailer) and even two bigger kids inside remain comfortable.
