Pie Face (buy it here)
Pie Face. We have been waiting for this game to be available in Canada for the longest time – and now it is. Imagine how much fun that you’re going to have, taking turns putting your face in the hole, turning the wheel and hoping that the tray filled with whipping cream isn’t coming to you. The kids are going to be able to fit more of their face into the frame, so at least there’s that – but this game is going to bring a hilarious, hilarious, addition to family game night. Get Pie Face.
Stormy Seas (buy it here)
Easily one of the best games that we’ve played to learn balance for toddlers, with items that have to be balanced on the wooden shop. It’s fun for young children, but just as fun when you play it with older kids. It’s one of those high quality games with a sturdy box that are going to last through an entire childhood. High quality wood construction, this is my go-to gift for toddlers when I want something unique and special. Get Stormy Seas.
Raccoon Rumpus (buy it here)
It’s like a memory game, with a twist, and raccoons in clothing. The person that collects the most pieces of clothing through the game wins, and it’s easy enough for two and three year olds to play along with their older siblings.
Frankie’s Food Truck Fiasco (buy it here)
This is one of those fantastic toddler and young kid games that focuses on grasping, with tweezer like devices, to grab things from the box that you need to get all of the food and win. These games are some of our favorites, and you’ll like it if you like Sneaky Snack Squirrel game or Avalanche Fruit Stand. These three toddler games are a must add to your collection for families that like toddler and little kid board games.
Exploding Kittens (buy it here)
This hilarious card game has been rated 7+ but if you’ve got a kid that has been playing card games and board games since they were young, this one would be fine. We’ve successfully played it with a five year old, and a six year old, and it’s just a matter of practice. It still took under ten minutes to learn to play, and the kids loved it. It’s new, from a Kickstarter Project last year and is easily one of our hottest gifts of 2015.
Pop Up Pirate (buy it here)
Pop up pirate is another one of those fun games that you can play over and over with the kids, and it never gets old. You never know which pull of the sword is going to make the pirate pop up – and that makes it exciting, every single time.
Crocodile Dentist (buy it here)
Remember the classic game from your childhood? The kids get a kick out of this one and the easy game doesn’t need batteries, just a wind up when you’re going to play. Everyone takes turns touching a tooth, pressing on it gently and when the ‘right’ tooth is touched, he snaps on your finger. The anticipation in this game is the best part. The second best part? There are no batteries and the kids can play alone!
Hungry Hungry Hippos (buy it here)
Hungry Hungry Hippos is one of the staple games in our house. Sure, it sometimes grates on your soul when the kids are smashing on those hippos – but for the most part. It’s one of the most fun games that you can play. Look for the travel version at Walmart that comes with a small version of covered Travel Hungry Hungry Hippos – because it’s a great option for younger kids as the balls are covered. Not just for traveling!
