It’s been about a month since it’s been fully nice enough to wear open-toed shows. Through the month, I’ve had my eye on a few pairs of new sandals. Something for everyday, and something a bit more special, something perfect for date-night.
Birkenstock Gizeh sandals to be exact – the perfect pair of shoes for everyday playground trips, running around after the kids, trips to the beach weekend trips, and running errands.
But, how could I decide between those and the fantastic (yet wearable) shoes for date night!?
Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, for about an hour while I browsed through Southgate Centre, making my way back to Superior Comfort, to make my final choice.
The date night shoes have so many options, would be perfect for those summer dress occasions and those nude strappy sandals would make a versatile addition to my shoe collection. This decision was going to be a tough one.
Finally, the ‘you walk to the playground’ more than you ‘walk on date night’ took over and I chose the black Birkenstock Gizeh sandals.
The ‘date night shoes’ are still on my list of things I want. I tried them on, and though perfect for date-night, they’re also perfect for someone like me, who lives in shoes like Birkenstocks eight months of the year – comfortable, easy to walk in, and high enough for date night but low enough that I’m not going to trip over everything.
While I was there, I learned a couple of things. I learned that there are some great products to clean your sandals, like the Tana Sandal Cleaner. It’s an all-in-one cleaner that even has a brush on the top for you to clean the sandals that you’ve splurged on – especially because you want to take care of those Birkenstocks once they’re broken in.
You’re going to live in them.
