It’s nearly advent season, and a bit ahead of the game this year (You’ve got to be, to get the best selection of Advent calendars out there), we’ve got our chosen, purchased and ready to open for the holidays. Here are a few of the choices that made the cut for advent calendars in our house – and what we’re going to be opening to countdown to Christmas.
Tsum Tsum | Violet is huge into collecting these small trinkets and surprise bags – everything from kittens to Num Noms, Twozies to Tsum Tsums. Since Violet has the Playmobil calendar, and Olivia’s only lasts twelve days – this is going to be a share calendar where they will switch off with the opening of the doors to discover some of the adorable Tsum Tsum collectibles.
Playmobil | Toys that can be played with over and over, built again and again, and reimagined with the characters from different sets – those are a few of the reasons that a Playmobil calendar made the short list of Calendars Violet chose the ‘Christmas in the Forest’ as the calendar she was going to open this year – and wrangled her way into getting two calendars because I had forgotten I purchased the Tsum Tsum calendar early in the season, at Costco. With a variety of choices available from NHL themed to the forest, or princesses and pirates, we love that the kids can include the Playmobil advent calendar items in with their collection of toys!
JACEK | I love the kids, but I’m not going to share this chocolate. The calendar was a surprise from Jamie, and a little bit of a splurge at $65, but the gorgeous selection of chocolate and the packaging make me excited to get it. The delicious, delicious chocolate is going to be a highlight to my afternoon – and I’m going to have to try and stop myself from devouring the entire calendar in three seconds flat. You can pre order the calendar this week, or try your luck in store (it sells out fast!) at one of the two locations in Edmonton area.
The Face Shop | Browsing through the Face Shop this weekend to pick up some of the fantastic face masks that are only $2 each (Seriously, you’ve got to check out this beauty store filled with Korean skin care products in West Edmonton Mall), Olivia happened upon this calendar. There’s make-up, fake lashes, beauty and skin care products, masks and more – and though it’s tailored more towards adults, and only has 12 instead of 24 days, we gave it a go because it was under $40.
