Happy Thanksgiving Weekend | I’m Thankful for Magically Charging Phones

It’s that time of year. The time of year when we gather the thoughts in our head and hold close the things that we are thankful for. Some big, some small, some life-changing – most of us have the same simple things that we are thankful for year after year.

Here are a few of the things that I am thankful for in 2012:

Healthy Girls
We have been blessed with healthy children. Aside from the ability of Olivia to pick up every single weird skin viral rash, we are blessed with two healthy children. I feel extremely lucky for this, and know that we can’t take this for granted. To the parents with children that have health issues, your strength amazes me and I don’t know how you do it. I am so, so grateful for this.

Full Bellies
I am grateful for the ability to feed our family. I am grateful that there are always full bellies, a full pantry and not a thought of wondering where the next meal is going to come from. Too many people have this concern and this is one of the reasons that we make regular contributions to the Edmonton food bank. Wondering what to donate? What about that can of infant formula that came in the mail or the short-dated one you see on sale? There’s a mama out there working hard to try and feed her baby – sometimes we all just need a little help.

The Other Half of Me
You simply know him as Frugal Dad, or Jamie. I know him as the person who charges my phone when I fall asleep with it in my hand. He’s the person who balances the insane to-do lists that I try to take on and let’s me know that enough is enough, it’s time to put it all away and focus on something important, the kids. Or us. He’s the person who makes fun of me, laughs with me, drives me crazy, is just as sarcastic as I am and the person that loves to shop just as much as I do. He is the person that works so incredibly hard for his family and is the most amazing father, who comes home from work and entertains the kiddos so I can get some work done, does cuddling and stories and let’s the toddler fall asleep on him before moving her to her bed. This is the person that I am lucky enough to have met – and there are no words to describe my gratitude for that.

Giggles, Laughs and Twitter Moms
You know those moments where your kid is puking in the car and it’s so disgusting that it makes you puke? And your partner says “What would you do if I died!? Who would clean up the puke?” No? Well, it’s those kind of Twitter moments that you can tweet and get hilarious responses from the amazing and supportive group of Moms on Twitter. There are countless times when I am giggling away at the phone and Jamie is all, what’s so funny? I usually respond with the fact that he wouldn’t get it – well, he wouldn’t. But, the point is there is a great group of Moms and I am thankful that I have twitter moms in Edmonton to vent to and to learn from – and to laugh with.

You Guys
I am grateful for the community that has been created around Frugal Edmonton Mama. I am thankful for the readers, and the businesses that I’ve worked with and I am excited to be coming up to celebrating two years of Frugal Edmonton Mama. Thank YOU and I hope that I bring tips, deals and information that you can use in your own life.

What are YOU thankful for?
