Why You Need to Upgrade Your Costco Membership to the Executive Membership

Lori Saving Money

Yes, you should pay extra for the Costco executive membership (if you shop there regularly). Last year, when it came time to upgrade I got in this argument with Frugal Dad that the Costco executive membership wasn’t worth it because we hadn’t made enough yet to get our membership for completely free.
Didn’t I feel stupid when we were in Costco and they explained it like – No, you didn’t make enough to get your membership for free, but you did earn $74 and that means when you apply the rebate check to the membership that the membership for the executive version is going to be less than the cost of the regular membership, right?
Yes, so that’s why you should get the Costco Executive membership!

and get 2% of purchases back in a rebate check.

If you DO happen to shop more and make those big purchases, you can easily earn more than the cost of the membership – meaning free Costco goodies for YOU.
Sure, the first year is going to cost you more - but if you intend to be lifetime Costco members (hands up here) it’s going to be worth it to save money every year on the cost of the Membership.
