Farmers Market Lemonade at-HomeEvery single time that we go to the Farmer’s Market there’s one place that we go first - the lemonade stand. I am more than willing to spend $4/glass of delicious, icy lemonade to sip on while we’re strolling and picking up some local produce, it’s one of our favorite parts of the entire market. I don’t like to share with the kids and I don’t even mind if I suck up a seed in the straw because it’s fresh, delicious and something that you can actually make at-home with two simple ingredients.

Simple Syrup Recipe

The trick to making the perfect lemonade is getting the syrup right. This is going to create the perfect amount of sweetness, without creating sugar that falls to the bottom or creates a drink that’s just too sweet. This is going to create flavor, without being gritty, and is one of the tricks to creating Farmer’s Market lemonade at-home.

1 cup of water
1 cup of sugar

Boil until a syrup is formed, about 5-7 minutes over medium heat. Let cool. You can double or triple the recipe and store it in a jar in the fridge for up to a week to have quick lemonade on the go. Whether you’re making lemonade or mixing simple drinks, this syrup is going to become a go-to part of your drink repertoire.

Farmer’s Market Lemonade

2 parts water
1 part lemon juice
1 part simple syrup

You can find covered cups at most stores, making it a fun way to serve lemonade on the go. Using washed lemons, you can also leave a couple of the juiced lemon wedges inside of the drink, shaken with the ice to create a bit more flavor and make it just like they do at the Farmer’s Market.

Tip: The Simple Syrup can also be combined with a Koolaid package to create shaved ice, slushies and snow cone syrup!
