My name is Lori and it’s been almost a year since my last hair cut. There should be a support group for that. A support group for Moms that schedule haircuts for those weekend afternoons when Dad’s around to watch the kiddos and then have afternoon naps because the prospect of going out when it’s so cold out is daunting when the warm bed and Shaw on Demand is calling while the kids are quiet.
My hair was ridiculous. Longer than it should have ever been and it lived in an unstylish ponytail.
Time for a change.
Someone in the Moms group that we’re a part of mentioned about Maddz Hair Design, she comes to your house - and the haircut was only $30.
It was some good haircut. She was super thorough, taught me a couple of tricks and talked about the style I showed her, letting me know whether it was going to work in my hair. I was going to make a couple of changes and she let me know that it might change the overall style so I decided to keep with the original haircut - and I’m so glad that I did.
It’s exactly what I wanted. There was never a moment of ‘what the heck happened to my hair’ or ‘how is this like the picture I showed you’ that I think everyone has experienced in the past.
She was so great, down to earth and nice - and it was comfortable, like this was the thirtieth time she’s been over to cut my hair - not the first.
Did I mention it was $30? That’s about half the cost of the trip to the salon that I frequent a couple of times a year. The convenience + the cost means I’ve scheduled an appointment for a trim and it looks like I’m going to have more hairstyle than a ponytail in the future. Huzzuh! Five minutes with the Conair Infinity Pro Curler and bam! Day ready.
It was great, I didn’t have to get the kids ready to go out and worry about them knocking over everything in the salon. I didn’t have to have the awkward moment when you feel awkward because it’s been how long since you’re last haircut and the guy stylist is fancier than you are. How were the kids? The kids were relatively behaved with one rogue sharpie incident. RIP unmarked leather of the littlest pig.
I thought she was great, the service was fantastic and I loved the cut so much that I wanted to share with my former group of ponytail Moms out there. You can get in touch with her on Maddz Hair Design via Facebook (send her a message). Note: this post is not sponsored, at all, I love, love, love the service and needed to share with Mamas that are horrible at getting to the salon (I am).

Looks great!! Love the length!
Thank you!!
You look fantastic Lori! Since my kids were born I’ve only gotten my haircut a couple of times a year for the same reasons as yourself. I have the long drab ponytail on a daily basis. You have inspired me:)
Oh gosh, No inspiration here Heather! Haha, Did you see the Before picture? I was a crazy ponytail/knotty hair Mom. I always feel awkward going to the salon and they’re all “What? It’s been how long since you had your hair cut!?”
Your before picture is the same length as my current hair. I always get “I’ve got to take a lot off because your ends are so badly split.”then i get asked when the last time i got it cut was and that’s when I squirm in my chair. I never want the other customers to hear and I hate it when they make such a big deal about it. It’s like announcing to everyone that I’ve let myself go so badly since becoming a mom. Then I just hope they don’t look at my eyebrows.

Thank you for posting this it’s a great to know someone can come to your house to do things that are nearly impossible when you have little kids running around! Do you know of a nail lady who comes to your home that would make my life so much easier!
