1/ “I’ve got no clue where your hippie b******t things are in the store”. Every few weeks, on a Sunday night, Jamie will head out to get groceries if we’ve had no time during the week. This week, on a quest to find the coconut flour that was on the grocery list for the week, this was the first thing he said to me when he walked into the house. There’s an upside though - because he finally found the chickpeas.
2/ Day drinking in your front yard. Jamie is so freaking social - he’s out there making friends all over the place and we officially have a full social calendar that consists of a lot of day drinking in the front yard. I think we’ve officially made the decision to wait until next summer, unless it just happens, to start trying to have a third child. You know, to not cramp the new day drinking style.
3/Closely following day drinking on Sunday afternoons is the Thursday night cracking of the bottle of wine and discovering your newfound love for peach bellinis. Then, drunk facebooking about cheeseburgers, above. Also, I discovered how hard it is to ride your bike around to the garage so it doesn’t get stolen by the gypsies when you’ve drank all the bellinis + wine.
4/ The spray park has opened so we spent the first day there yesterday. As usual, I had the kid that wouldn’t keep on her pants. At least fourteen times during the two hours we were there I had to go on a search to find her bottoms. At one point she hid from me under the side, thanks other Mom who pointed out the bottomless kid hanging out under the slide.
5/ The other night we went to see a Comedy show. One of the jokes during the show said that you shouldn’t be able to bring your baby home from the hospital until you prove that you don’t have a cracked iPhone screen. If that were the case, I would own exactly zero kids. Plus, I can’t even keep mine charged. I probably need a solar charger.
6/ Fun fact: one can of palm bay makes four popsicles.
7/ Jamie and Violet had a daddy/daughter this week. They went to Walmart to get door knob baby proofing items after the 75th time she came out of her room. So, ten o’clock at night and they’re off to get the doorknob baby proofing things. Poor second child, we would have never locked Olivia in her room to play with her toys and just yell at ten o’clock at night.
8/ I have not bitten my nails for almost two weeks. They’re starting to look less like hobo nails and more like nails that are starting to grow. They’re taking a very long time to go through. We should probably go and buy some prenatal vitamins.
9/ The zipper jackets are back at Costco and there are some fun colors like coral, green and blue. A few of them just went on to my ‘buy it for me for my birthday or I’ll just buy it for myself’ list. They’re $26.99.
10/ Dress love - we’ve got three weddings to go to this summer and I am loving this dress, this one, and this one for those wedding celebrations.
I have decided I don’t want to try for #3 until after next summer so that I don’t have to spend my 30th sober, and can enjoy a boozy summer without being pregnant or having a baby that still wakes up all night.
Sounds like you’ve got your priorities in order
I have an arsenal of virgin drinks… but that wouldn’t be much fun since we just found our FIRST every babysitter! Is it bad that we hire her and stay in the neighborhood to have BBQs kidless? haha (;
What is your belinni recipe please?
Just the smirnoff ice bellinis! so good.
besides the Smirnoff bellinis do you have a recipe for peach ones?
