There are a few ways that you can entice your children to eat vegetables. You can hide them inside of smoothies, you can hold back on dessert (or after dinner fun) until they at least try them, you can luck out and have kids that are obsessed with broccoli, or you can make them fun and let them witness the ‘magic beans’.
Fun fact: Magic beans are purple string beans that turn green when they’re heated - or when you cook them. It’s a fun process to watch, and the kids will be enthusiastic (Okay, more enthusiastic than they were) to eat the beans, after they witness the magic.
Serve them with seasoning and butter - or give them a quick fry to make vegetable frites.
There’s magic for you Mom + Dad too. Until October 8, Spud Edmonton is celebrating it’s first year anniversary. We use the service, every week, as an ambassador and it’s been a lifesaver for those times when you don’t want to rush out to grab vegetables for the week, with the produce box, or those times when you need to restock the pantry with snacks for lunches. Comparable to organic prices at the grocery store (and sometimes a little lower, depending on what you buy), you get good food delivered to your house, every week.
Use this link to sign up for Spud.ca and try it out. You’ll get $40 off when you spend $60 and get it delivered so you can give the service a try too. Wondering what to choose for your first time around? Milk and juice are our staples, but the produce box might just change the way that you shop.
