How to Get US Netflix In Canada (and Get Thousands More Television Shows)

Lori Uncategorized

Are you looking for a way to get rid of the cable costs while still having the entertainment of television and movies? Sure, you can look into getting Netflix in Canada but the selection is not that great. So, what’s a Frugal Mama to do when it comes to getting a better selection - on a smaller dime? Enter Netflix US (Yes, you can get Netflix US in Canada - and the better selection that comes along with it).

So, how do you do it?

To get Netflix US in Canada, you can use a website like www.unblock-us.com that provides you with a server from the US (or something technical like that) for $5/month. Or, you can use a free app like Tunnel Bear to get the service for FREE for a limited amount, and $2.99/month plans.

To get it set-up, you can do it under five minutes. Seriously. I am not technical and it took just a few minutes (Note: you have to go to the website from the device that you are going to use Netflix from) I missed this obvious piece of information and did it from the Laptop wondering why it wasn’t working on the PS3 (See, I didn’t say I was super-technical).

You can even take advantage of the week-long trial and there are easy tutorials to get you started. We use Unblock-us and it’s easy to set up and well worth the $5 month for the devices we’re watching Netflix on.

$12.99 compared to up to six times that on regular cable programming? Yes please.
