My Epic Grocery Shopping Fail

Lori Uncategorized

You know those moments where you come home from vacation and find that you have nothing in the house to cook lunch with? That was today. We came home from five days away with literally nothing to cook (well, nothing that I felt like putting effort into, and none of the easy meal stuff that’s usually in the house). Combine that with the fact that we had a busy day of catching up on work, meeting with a dayhome provider AND dinner at the grandparents and you have yourself a hot mess with no hot lunch.

So, Off to Wal-Mart I go on the way home from dinner at nearly nine pm. Both of the kids are asleep in the car so I run in to grab a few of the things that we will use for the next couple of days.

Shopping at night is difficult. I don’t know about you, but I am tired from the day. Shopping at night without a list is even harder. I don’t think that I got the full ingredients and I spent eighty bucks.

More than half of our grocery budget and not even a meal. I came home and forgot the basics things that we use the most of - eggs and french bread. What. the. heck? Where was my head!?

I can’t shop without a list. It’s a huge fail. Every single time. What about you? Do you wander aimlessly through the aisles without a list, or do you have it down pat?
