How Long Has it Been for You?

July 22nd, 2013 4 Comments

Four years. That’s how long it’s been for me. In fact, four years yesterday since Olivia was born and we haven’t had a weekend away together since then. We’ve taken the kids with us on Vacations to Mexico, Vegas, Hawaii and road trips but we’ve never had the opportunity to take a weekend away.

We’re finally doing it. We’re going to Calgary. We’ve been there with the kids, we’ve done the kid-stuff, we know all about the kid stuff.

What are your suggestions for Calgary?

We picked a weekend and are heading to Calgary for the weekend without the kids to sleep, shop, catch-up and eat in restaurants without having to rush.

We are going to sleep in without being jumped on.

We are going to drink too much wine.

We are going to hot tub past bedtime.

We are going to browse instead of running in to ‘grab something’.

and drink more wine.

Then, we’re going to come home for some much missed kid snuggles.

What should be on our must-do list for Calgary?

Bring back jelly modern donuts for the kids.....maple bacon or carrot so yummy. For dinner Charcut it's delicious! Enjoy

Definitely do the Calgary Tower. Stan and I thought it was cool. You get to walk on the glass floor. It's kinda like the one at CN Tower except this one juts out from the building so its scarier. I may or may not have wet myself a little bit.

Cross Iron Mills...a must!

We did a tour of places that were on "You Gotta Eat Here" when we went to Calgary in the fall without our son. Una Pizza & Wine, Diner Deluxe, Jelly Modern Donuts. It was really fun! And we hit up some different pubs since we don't get to do that here very often :). Shopping on Stephen Ave was great too!
