Around here, when it comes to birthday decorations I don’t make a trip to the party store. I’m more likely to stop in the card section of Target to see what kind of new tissue paper they have in stock, because everyone knows all of the best decorations can be made from tissue paper. You don’t need to have extensive skills, you simply need to know how to work a pair of scissors and follow the simple instructions for these tissue paper crafts.
It’s birthday week around here and that means fun DIY projects for Violet’s Party. Instead of a trip to the party store to spend money on decorations, we chose to make fun and gorgeous decorations out of $.99 packages of Tissue paper from Target. There are a bunch of fun colors and tones, and I love the way that the decorations are turning out.
Simple DIY Zig Zag Accordion Streamers
You need: Tissue paper sheets, scissors
1. Cut the tissue paper into three sections, lengthwise. I did three sheets at a time
2. Cut strips 1″ apart on one side, then, turn it around and cut a strip in the center of the 1″ strips. Do not cut all the way through.
3. Carefully take the strips apart and tape accordingly.
Perfect for spring, and Easter, I think these decorations are going to stay where they are for a while. That’s the beauty of home made decor - you can easily make it so it’s reusable for kids room decor, holiday decor and you can save a bundle while you’re doing it.
