New York is high up on my places of must take the kids. On each of these lists are sub-lists that have a list of things that I want to see and do while we are there. Half because our kids love to dance and it looks like a fantastic time with some other kids that want to groove and half because we can make like it’s throwback Thursday and down vodka shots at the bar. Just kidding. Sort of.
What’s FuziPop?
FUZIPOP! is a series of events focused on the celebration of music, dance & community for the next generation of city kids. An event where kids and parents together can listen & dance to DJs playing the latest in electronic music, alongside their favorite pop hits, while also seeing a live performance and experience a nightclub environment in a safe controlled daytime setting. Although all children and parents accompanied by them are welcome, FUZIPOP! events are focused on kids 6-12 years of age, and take place in exclusive nightclubs, typically seen in gossip columns and guarded by velvet ropes. Each club is transformed into a unique kid-centric daytime party space.
Cost: $60 for a family pass to get into one of the events. Drinks extra, cash bar. And? You can splurge for bottle service, of juice.
Sure, expensive - but the event would be a fun dance party for older kids and their parents and the chance to go to one of the ‘cool’ bars when really, it’s not as if we are ever going to go there. If there were similar events here in Edmonton, you can bet I would take my dance party loving kids - what a fun idea for an afternoon out. Though I would likely spend more on the pre-party glow stick shopping than the actual tickets.
