Today marked the day that a swimsuit I ordered for Olivia ages ago finally arrived. She was ecstatic - and even more so when she learned that it was part of the clue of what we were going to do tomorrow.
I don’t know whether she was more excited about the fact that she got a new swimsuit, or the fact that it’s Tuesday and Dad isn’t going to work. Instead, we’re packing a picnic in the morning and going to West Edmonton Mall for toddler time at the Waterpark. That’s where you can head into the Waterpark between noon-3 with one parent and toddler/preschooler for only $15/kid five and under (parents are free). It’s the perfect time to explore the water park when it’s not too busy, watch mom scream her head off when she’s going down one of the scary slide and develop and grow that four year old independence with a solo trip down the slide.
Toddler time | Monday to Thursday 12-3 at the Waterpark (not available for holidays/summer I believe).
It’s the chance to create memories of the time that Dad took a Tuesday off of work and we hung out at the waterpark, browsed the Disney Store and maybe made a trip to Build A Bear.
It’s the chance to do something out of the ordinary. It’s the chance to leisurely sleep in on a weekday, get up and gather the bathing suits for an exciting afternoon of fun. It’s the chance to do something that she’s going to talk about for weeks after we come home and the chance to cuddle while the kids fall asleep during a late afternoon nap, tired from all of the stairs they climbed at the Mall.
It’s $15 - and full of memories. That’s my kind of family date day. So if you’re looking for us today, you can find us making memories.
