Delicious, Kid-Friendly Breakfast in Canmore at the Summit Cafe #ExploreAB

Lori Explore

From the moment you walk into the door you are greeted with friendly staff in this hot local spot that energizes you with delicious food, tantalizing energy bars to go and a hip vibe solidified by the various table markers. These table markers range from a ceramic `Belle` to a toddler guitar toy, or a fish toy for the beach, the table markers to identify where the order is going. And, that’s only the start of the kid friendly features.

We went for breakfast on Saturday, and returned on the Sunday for a late brunch on our kid free weekend, mentioning how much the kids would have loved to come and how it`s on our list for next weekend.

Summit Cafe Breakfast Special Canmore

How are the prices? The breakfast special was just under ten bucks, and included sausage, hash browns, two eggs and toast. This was my go-to both days, sampling delicious chicken apple sausage on Saturday, and honey garlic turkey sausage the next. I added on a cinnamon bun, and an extra sausage as I wasn’t risking Jamie sharing my sausage, and was so full. Jamie ordered the Summit Club, and I stole a few bites of the fresh, delicious sandwich served with hash browns.

Summit Cafe Canmore Breakfast

You know how some breakfast cafes are greasy? Not at Summit Cafe, this was handsdown the best breakfast that we’ve both had in a very long time. Everything was full of flavor, the sausages were cooked perfectly and I loved the range of flavors over the two days and the cinnamon bun was delicious and had the perfect cream cheese frosting.

Summit Cafe Cinnamon Buns

The kids menu featured items under six bucks, but I would be tempted to order the breakfast special for the kids to share when we bring them back next weekend.

Tip: Get there early and order a cinnamon bun. Don’t forget to ask for icing, it’s delicious and wise words from the locals say these cinnamon buns sell out quickly.

With toys for table markers and a big picnic table inside the low key cafe, it’s simple to bring along the kids, even if they’re rambunctious. The patio makes it simple for the kids to get outside and play on the grass while the food is being delivered to your table and there’s delicious lemonade + a pleasing kids meal too.

You can find the Summit Cafe in Canmore at 1001 Cougar Creek Drive. This is one place that you’re going to want to add to your places to try this summer while you’re out there exploring with the kids on those weekend road trips in Alberta.
