You know how you browse through the baby store, searching for the gift that’s going to be the perfect combination of useful + gorgeous? buy buy BABY has lots of inspiration for gifts that fit perfectly in between, whether you’re shopping for yourself, or your about-to-pop best friend. I fancy myself a baby gift expert. I’m going to tell you to skip the baby wipes warmer, and the newborn kid outfit, and get something that you’ve tried and loved yourself. Here are a few of the baby gear things that top my list for new mom gifts - and you can find them all at the newly opened buy buy BABY in South Edmonton Common, or linked below.
JJCole Bundle Me | Handsdown one of the most useful things that we had for both of the girls, it helped to avoid having to pile jackets on the kids. It kept them nice and toasty, and fit well with the Maxi Cosi Mico carseat we had for both girls. It’s available in a wide range of colors, and levels of toasty, but in fall/spring/winter, the urban bundle me is a great choice.
Skip Hop Duo Diaper Bag | A bag that’s large enough, with enough compartments, and a bag that’s stylish is essential. I love this bag because there’s no cutesy patterns, it’s easily washable and you have lots of compartments to work with to find what you’re looking for. For work on the go, I can even fit the iPad in there.
Honest Diapers | Just look at those designs! These are a must have for a summer baby who lives in their diaper, and a fantastic choice for those adorable almost-naked baby photos you seem to capture for the first few months. We’ve found that Honest diapers perform well, even overnight, and the cute patterns and designs are a bonus. Plus, you can find the entire line of skin and baby products in-store.
Boon Whale Pod | Bath toys used to be the bane of my existence, until we got a pod. When Olivia was little, we had the ladybug and the frog in both of our bathrooms. It gave an easy place to store the toys (and control how many bath toys you accumulate), and gives a place to stash their bath stuff too. For $40, it’s a great price point for a gift (especially when you use one of the 20% BBB coupons).
Aden and Anais Blankets | We’ve been using the same swaddle blankets for almost four years. We received some when Olivia was a toddler and they’re perfect for those summer nights when you want a thin layer, they’re large enough for easy swaddling for infants, and when your kids have a cold, they’re the perfect blanket to bring along if the kids are constantly wiping their noses on things. And? Every time you wash them they just get better and better. Buy a four pack of the swaddles, or the stroller blanket, as my top choice for new moms.
Mamas and Papas Baby Snug Booster| Versatility, that’s something you want when you’re shopping for baby products. This chair is adaptable for different stages, as you can remove the insert and you can use it for everything from feeding to entertaining. It’s a perfect go-in-together gift for the new mom that isn’t sure what she wants and should be on every gift registry.
Skip Hop Wet Bag | Even if you’re not clothing diapering, it’s a great idea to have a wet bag for those trips to the pool, those soaked through clothes and messes and spills that you just want to contain. Add it on to a stylish bag and you can find a matching pattern.
Ubbi Diaper Pail | A diaper pail that you can use regular bags with, but that’s also stylish enough to not have to stash in a closet - That’s what I’m talking about. The Ubbi diaper pail is a splurge, but it’s one that you’re going to want to make to ditch the whole ‘what’s that smell?’ when you walk into the room.
