Netflix Picks to Get You In the Mood for Back to School

Lori Kids Activities

Preschool: Thomas and Friends, Schoolhouse Delivery
School is in session and there are lessons to be learned. Learn about responsibility, handling emergencies and more. Runner up? Barney’s, Let’s Play School - it’s going to get preschoolers inspired to play school at home, getting ready for the real thing.

Kindergarten: Leapfrog Let’s Go to School
If you’ve got a kiddo going into Kindergarten, you’re going to want to queue this one up. It’s a walk through of school for a nervous little frog. The fun songs and bright colours, learning themes and familiar characters will get kiddos in the mood for school in a snap.

Elementary: The Magic School Bus
There are four seasons of this favorite on Netflix. Kids can watch and learn at the same time, while they imagine if they’re going to get a teacher like Mrs. Frizzle this year. Our favorite episode? The one where they went inside the human body. We’ve been watching this one since Olivia was four, and it’s one that we’ve always watched along with her. It’s a class-ic.

Middle School: Video Game High School
They may not run or jump, but video game competition is stiff at Video Game High School. Binge watching is more than okay on rainy weekends, and there are three seasons of Video Game High School for older kids that want to binge watch.

High School: On the Way to School
Admit it, it’s come out of your mouth before just how lucky our children are that they have access to an education - no? Just me? Maybe better for older children, this documentary can help to open that dialogue that the school our children have to wake up early every morning for? It’s a privilege.

To find these shows: Go to the search function of your Netflix screen (this is going to vary depending on the device you are using to watch Netflix) and enter the name of the television show that you are looking for.

What are you watching to prep for back to school? As part of the Netflix stream team, I get some perks to bring you what’s new and cool on Netflix (but let’s be serious) I would be watching anyway.
