McDonald’s Launches Create Your Taste in Edmonton

Lori Around Edmonton

We grab food to go, or go out to eat with the kids, a few times a week. We know where kids eat free, can tell you the best place to grab date night specials any day of the week and I’ve got a handful of local take-out places on speed dial. On road trips out of town, quick nights when we need to feed the kids quickly or those times when it’s freezing and the kids want to play in an indoor playground - let’s face it, McDonald’s is convenient.

New: McDonald’s Create Your Taste Experience

There’s a new option at McDonalds. The ‘Create Your Taste’ menu allows you to choose everything from the bun to toppings and sauce to create your own take on the burger. It’s a foray into the gourmet burgers that had my heart at garlic aioli.

How much does it cost? Burgers start at $7.49 and increase based on the toppings chosen. You’ve got the option to add on fries and a drink, or even new desserts like lemon loaf or a maple danish.

Toppings include: Sundried tomato pesto, blue cheese, guacamole, sriracha and nearly thirty other toppings are available for you to build your burger. Imagine the possibilities - and the sharing of favorite combinations.

In addition to having staff to help with suggestions, customizing the burger and the ordering experience, tableside service completes the experience. Burgers are cooked to order, and take 7-10 minutes - served up on modern trays, bringing you a whole new experience.

My first choice? Angus beef patty, sundried tomato pesto, monteray jack cheese, swiss cheese, garlic aioli and jalepenos. It had just the right amount of kick, creaminess, cheesiness and had a fantastic bun to burger ratio - just look at those buns.

Tip: If you’ve got a picky kid, bringing them along and gently encouraging them to try something new on the innovative and easy to use ordering system just might give them a push to choose something unexpected.

Glastonbury McDonald’s (6215 199 Street) is one of the 11 locations in the region that will feature the new Create Your Taste ordering experience.
