A bit of a product junkie, I have tried a lot of brands and a lot of products. Of these, I’ve found a few favorites that I reach for morning after morning, again and again when I’m getting ready. I wanted to share some of these - because they’re the best products that I’ve discovered - and because I wanted to make sure that you knew you could get your NYX fix at London Drugs.
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara | $22
Inspired by Smashbox’s on-set technique of layering fiber mascara over volumizing mascara for the biggest, longest lashes on camera, Full Exposure Mascara creates a 104% increase in lash volume for scene-stealing lashes at every angle without smudging, clumping, or flaking. It’s not water proof and makes a mess in the shower, but oh - does it create volume. My second choice? Too Faced, Better than Sex.
NYX Mineral Stick | $11
Hard to find in stores because the NYX stock sells out so quick, these mineral sticks are what I use on my face for great coverage, for errands and with other products on date night. They’re an easy way to quick and dirty contour and highlight your face and the coverage is fantastic. Find them at London Drugs (Shop online here because the stock sells so fast in stores). They’re so fast to get your face on that you’re going to be able to do it even when the kids are banging on the door.
You know what else I saw when I was away getting a sneak peek with London Drugs for gifting and new products coming out? There’s a $26 NYX contouring and highlighting palette coming out soon. Not available yet, you can stalk it using the link above to find out when (and at which stores) you can find it at. Though I don’t full out contour and highlight a la Kardashian every single day - I do when we have any appearances on television (where more is more) and when I have more than ten minutes to do make up in the morning. That’s on my Christmas wish list.
NYX Matte Lipstick | $9
Just in case you wanted to get your fix of NYX makeup - that you can find at London Drugs - you can get the NYX matte lipstick for free when you spend $25 in-store (until October 28, 2015). The temptress shade is a great everyday lip, and is the perfect texture and the right amount of color to bring everything together.
Gel Liner - Sunkissed Pearls | $28
I ran out of my Sonya Kashuk eyeliner from Target earlier this month and I’ve been using this one. Value wise - it’s amazing. It takes a couple of seconds longer to apply than the pen liners, but the value is worth it (it’s on sale for only $16 right now, half off!) You do need a brush, and it might take a bit of practice, and you’re not going to get those lines that are so much easier with a bristle tip, but it’s great. My second choice for when I’m a bit busier? Covergirl Intensify Me liquid liner - with the dual way to apply, thick or thin.
NYX Dreamcatcher Pallette | $17
I’ve been loving this dusk to dawn palette from NYX. It’s long lasting and a cheaper version to some of the more expensive versions on the palette. The colors are similar in the palette, and you do have to apply quite a bit of shadow - or use a light/dark base, depending on the look that you’re trying to get - but if those colors are right in your comfort zone, try it out. It’s $17 - and the neutral colors with a bit of a pop are pretty fantastic.
Tip: Watching a demonstration of the black eyeshadow base at the London Drugs trade show in Whistler last week was incredible. It was so fantastic to see the change in the color and is one of those things that’s on my list to add to my make up collection to save time (and layering make up).
Finishing up, and looking through my make-up bag (and through my choices that I go to everyday), NYX is one of those brands that I use, trust and keep going back to, time and time again. It was so interesting to learn that NYX uses huge amounts of influencer marketing and social media - and they’ve been so successful in doing so. I mean, the product can be barely kept on the shelf. If you’re like me, and love the products (and the price tag) - and didn’t know that you can actually find them at London Drugs (or order them online) and get your NYX fix, just like that.
