Those mornings where we rush to close the door to keep that brisk air outside are getting closer and closer. Shortly, it’s going to be Halloween, the time of year when princess dresses and DIY costumes are finished off with the warmest pair of boots you own.
Knowing the weather was coming, and that we had to replace boots that were promptly grown out of over the summer, we jumped in the car and went to The Shoe Company to find boots for the family.
Twenty Minutes. Four pairs of boots. One Store.
You read that right. We spent twenty minutes inside The Shoe Company choosing four pairs of boots. Starting with the girls, Olivia had already browsed through the online store and had an idea of the boots she was searching for. Hers were the most expensive of the bunch. You know what though? She’s going to be the one, out of the four of us, spending the most time outside.
She chose a pair of extra warm Sorel’s. Violet chose a similar pair, the third pair she tried. At three, she’s got a keen sense of what she wanted, and she wanted the heart boots. I lead her to a brand I was more familiar with, a brand I knew would keep those feet warm during snowball fights, snow fort building and hikes through the glaciers on weekends away in the mountains. She also ended up with a pair of Sorel boots.
A helpful staff member took the girls boots to the front, and Jamie and I split up, each took a kid, and chose boots for ourselves. I tried on a few pairs, including a wedge pair of boot that were pretty, but not very practical, and a pair that I had been considering, the Joan of Arctic boots - but they were a bit too high for everyday, put on quick and get outside, style.
Meeting up, we realized that we chose the same pair - him in black and me, in purple. Sole-mates, right?
Twenty minutes, that’s how long it took to shop for boots for the entire family. That’s one of the things that I love about The Shoe Company - shoes for everyone, for every occasion, in one place.

Warm Feet for Everyone
We’ve got some great adventures planned over the course of the winter, and keeping warm toes is going to be our first priority - for those adventures away and for the time when we’re just going as far as the back yard. Glacier walking, snow tubing, and snowshoes planned for the kids Christmas gifts (sshh) we’re going to need warm boots - easily found from the high quality brands on the shelves at The Shoe Company.
Warm feet, quality boots and an easy shopping experience means that we’re all ready for winter. If you’re not ready, don’t worry - there’s still time. After all, we were in and out of our shopping for the entire family in under twenty minutes.
