Are You Shopping Online without Earning Money Back?

Lori Saving Money

Jamie and I have this joke, about how we used to spend so many of our date nights browsing the mall. We’d spent hours trying on clothes, comparing different items for the condo or spending almost an hour in the Hudson’s Bay searching for the right set of sheets. We joke about how different it all is now, how when we have to make a trip to the mall we park strategically to avoid any of the stores that the kids are interested in, planning the quickest route in and out, and knowing exactly what we’re searching for to and trying not spend more than a few minutes in the store.

Our shopping style, post kids, is so different than the shoppers we were before. Now, we do the majority of our shopping for clothes and household items online.

We do a lot of online shopping. For everything from groceries delivered to our house, to stocking up on wardrobe items for the kids – we shop online for the majority of the things we buy. It’s convenient, it’s easy, it’s a way to save money and it even earns us money back.

Our regular online store orders include: Indigo, Joe Fresh, Gap, Hatley, ASOS, Roxy, Groupon, Hudson’s Bay and Sunglass Hut – all of these stores are on the expansive list of places that you can earn cash back when you shop online using Ebates.ca. How much of a cash back can you earn while shopping? Up to 30%. The stores I mentioned above, our frequented ones, could currently earn you between 3.5 and 10% cash back. In your pocket.

To make your dollar stretch even further – essential for so many families in the current economic climate here in Alberta, you can use discount codes for these online stores, shop sales and clearance and take advantage of free shipping offers, or make sure you’ve met the minimum threshold for free shipping to be applied to your order.

How can you get started? Simply visit Ebates.ca and sign up for an account using your email address. After you’ve signed up and before you plan to shop online, visit the Ebates website (or use their handy toolbar extension), search for the store you want to shop at, click the red “shop now” button and then simply shop as you normally would. The cash back you earned will appear in your account within a few days. Not only will you start earning cash back on all the purchases you make online, but you will also earn an additional $10 bonus for signing up and making your first purchase. Free money is always good, but it’s even better when you earn it on things you’re already doing.

This post has been brought to you by Ebates.ca, but the images and opinions are my own.
