I never know the protocol with baby showers - do you have one with your second kid? Your third? We had one for Olivia, a whole ‘meet the baby’ kind of celebration and with Violet, I think we skipped it.
This time around, we’ll probably stick with having people drop by in their own time, rather than planning a party - and though it’s not a ‘bring a gift’ kind of celebration, there are still requests of ‘what do you need for the baby?’
The third time around, the answer is usually not very much. The third time around you’ve probably learned that less is indeed more - and that you need less than you think. You’ve probably got the bases covered, you’ve probably found a few favourite products, a few favourite brands and you probably want the convenience of being able to easily register for any generously offered gifts, online.
buybuy Baby Online Registry
Registering online comes with the convenience of being able to do it from home - as well as having the option to stop by the store, and meet with baby registry experts, sharing some of their must-have items with expecting parents.
When you’re registering online, there are easy options to get you started, with popular categories, or choose specific options like ‘strollers’. Browsing through the options, you can sort the products by price, and look at reviews that other parents have left for the products - giving you an idea of where to start when it comes to shopping for those new baby must-have products.

5 Must-Have Third Baby Registry Picks
Shopping for a third child, we’ve chosen tried and true items that have worked for us in the past, high quality items that we know are going to last through this kid (and potentially the next one if we decide to go for four kids) and stuff that we’re really going to use.
Lifefactory bottles | these bottles are expensive to start with, but they’re durable and the half-dozen or so that w purchased when Olivia was an infant are still in the pantry, and so we’ve added a few more to our registry, because not only are they fantastic for storing breastmilk in the glass bottles, but they’re so so durable and the ones from when Olivia was young still appear new.
Jujube Be Prepared Bag | This bag doubles as a weekend and travel bag, and it’s not on our registry because we already own it, but it’s the bag that will hold everything that you need for three kids, and is stylish enough for a weekend away without the kids. There are so many different sections, and everything is bright and easy to find, with pockets to organize everything that you could possibly need for baby number three. It’s well worth the splurge.
Phil + Ted’s Lobster High Chair | When it comes to baby number three, we want less ‘stuff’ in the house, but we’re still going to need the functionality of a high chair. Having a high chair that can easily clip on to the table, and be brought along for adventures, is going to make life easier.
Swaddle Blankets | Oversized swaddle blankets, like the fantastic sets of blankets from Aden and Anais, wash like a dream. The bamboo blankets get better with time and are perfect for everything from swaddling and bedtime, and they make the list of not only one of our favourite gifts to receive, but our favourite gifts to give.
Gender Neutral Clothes | This time around, we’re not finding out the gender of the baby before it’s born, so we’ve been on the search for cute, gender-neutral infant clothes. Browsing through buybuy Baby last month, I happened upon the adorable Skip Hop clothes, in patterns that were perfect for modern parents, searching for trendy baby clothes.
We registered for all of these items that we created online, in an online baby registry at buybuy Baby, making it easy to answer the question ‘What do you need for the baby’?
