We’ve got our morning routine down to a science. Twenty minutes before the bus arrives, my non-morning-person child awakes and gets dressed. While she’s getting dressed and brushing her teeth, I start to put her lunch together – vowing the next day that I’m going to be more prepared, I’m going to pack it the night before.

It never happens.

There are the lunch time staples that we put into her lunch bag, fruit and veggies, something crunchy, like crackers or chips and of course, yogurt.

With kids that aren’t fond of drinking glasses of milk – we consume a lot of yogurt in our house – in all forms. They have yogurt with breakfast, yogurt with lunch and will often grab for a yogurt as a snack before bed.

We know our yogurt – and our ways of packaging it.

Containers of yogurt mean that I’m going to need to send a spoon with lunch, and that spoon is likely going to be lost before it comes home again.

Tubes have to be frozen, and are apt to melt before lunch or make whatever is in the thermos cold – and they can be tricky to open.

The latest favourite, pouches, are the clear winner. There’s no messing about with the spoon, I don’t have to freeze them – and the top isn’t going to be pop off of the container or get ripped, leaving her lunch covered in yogurt.

The Yoplait Mingo pouches are fast – important when you’re six and you’ve got so much to say during lunch, with little time left over to eat. Olivia can easily take the cover off herself, without any help, and quickly squeeze it to eat. It’s convenient, easy, and leaves her enough time to finish the rest of the things in her lunch.

Currently, there are two flavours available: strawberry and raspberry. Made with whole milk and real fruit, each pouch contains 4g of protein, calcium and vitamin D and doesn’t have artificial colours or flavours.

You can find Yoplait Minigo pouches in the yogurt section. The retail value of each pouch is $1.49 – making it right on target with convenient lunch snacks for kids.
