Get Out of Town for the Hometown Heroes Airshow Whitecourt

Lori Explore

Mark your calendar for July 23 & 24, 2016 - it’s the perfect time to get out of town and experience the Hometown Heroes Airshow Whitecourt. If your kids are anything like ours, there’s excitement in the air when they get to see an airplane up close - and the air show has always been one of those must-do summer activities for the kids.

Whitecourt Airshow Crowd

The show welcomes you to come pay tribute to our heroes who have provided support in our Province this past year, provided emergency medical services, police and fire protection and all the Canadian Forces past and present. With lots to do for the entire family, it’s one of those convenient and affordable ways to get out of town, add a bit of excitement to a weekend camping trip and check out the many fun things to do in the Whitecourt area.

What can you see at the Whitecourt Air show?
  • We are show casing the Royal Canadian Snowbirds (with autograph session)
  • Royal Canadian CF -18 Demo Team
  • Dan Buchanan and his paraglide
  • Team Rocket
  • Brent Handy and the the Indy Boys Jet Bus
  • See Stars Helicopters, Water Bombers and Military Equipment
  • Sit in a plane, and meet a pilot
  • Check out the Kids Zone
  • Eat and drink from on-site food vendors
  • Helicopter Rides
  • Drive a Lamborghini or Ferrari (for a nominal fee)
  • Merchant’s Market

Stay Overnight

Though Whitecourt is close enough for a day trip, you might just want to make a weekend out of it, and check out the other attractions in town. If you’re spending the weekend camping, there are many options available: Carson Lake Provincial Campground (about 20km from town), Lion’s Campground (west end of town). If hotels are more your style, there are many options available.

Get Tickets for the Show

Tickets can be purchased online at www.hometownheroesairshow.com or at the gate on the day of the show. Children six and under are free of charge, 7-12 and seniors ($15) and adults ($25). Buy your tickets ahead of time online, and save 10% off of the ticket price.
