The Cure for the Thanksgiving Pie Hangover

Lori Tried it - Loved It

Every year at Thanksgiving there is pie—lots and lots of pie in multiple flavors. Pies that have been sourced from some of the best hidden-gem bakeries in the Edmonton area, ordered ahead of time or baked by family members skilled in making delicious desserts.

Every year at Thanksgiving, we end up sampling too many of these pies. We stop just shy of the ‘I need to unbutton my pants and sleep off my pie hangover for the rest of the day’ stage. How can you help yourself when there are so many delicious flavors and creations available, right in front of you, and the reason for the season is gathering friends and family together to eat?

Every year I suffer from ‘the pie hangover’ like clockwork. I’m pretty terrible at it. I’ll say, ‘I ate too much pie.’, and then I’ll go back for ‘just one more bite’.

Jamie is usually the one coming to the rescue, grabbing the Pepto-Bismol he has stuffed away in the car, or his golf bag, or the many other places that he has the caplets tucked away for those moments of ‘tummy trouble’. He, and Pepto-Bismol, are like the antidote to the curse of the girl who ate too much pie (but who still hasn’t learned her lesson, all these years later).

Pepto-Bismol gives you five symptom relief—heartburn, indigestion, nausea, upset stomach and diarrhea—making it perfect for those occasions when you’ve indulged in too much food and drink. Trying it for the first time last year, I noted how quickly it worked, and realized just why Jamie has it stashed away at so many places in our house.

You’ll find it in every single travel bag that he uses. It’s one of his go-to over-the-counter products for traveling because, just as over-indulging in pie gives me an upset stomach, an upset stomach often also plagues him when we’re travelling. Pepto-Bismol helps with symptoms of upset stomach from food or drinks..

Remember, when using the product, always follow the directions on the label. Do not exceed 8 doses in a 24-hour period when using Pepto-Bismol or 4 doses in a 24-hour period when using Pepto-Bismol Max. A temporary solution, it’s effective – and something you might just want to stash away for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday season.

This post is brought to you by P&G. We’ve teamed up to share relief just in time for the holidays. We were compensated for this post, but all opinions are our own. #ad
