Versatile Holiday Decor: The Heidi Swapp Lightbox

Lori Tried it - Loved It

When it comes to holiday decor, we’ve really scaled down. There’s something about the sense of relief that comes after the holidays when you put it all away that made me realize we need to choose the items we decorate with wisely, rather than have an excessive amount of clutter, everywhere we look, for three months of the year while we decorate for different holidays and occasions.

I mean, there are hundreds of things that I would like to buy, when it comes down to it - we don’t need it, and let’s face it, the space can be better used in our home. At least, that’s what I’m going to tell myself every single time I walk into Homesense.

It’s also forced us to get a bit creative, choosing a pair of light up trees that can be dressed up for every occasion, white accessories that create a bright space, and things like the Heidi Swapp Lightbox, that can be changed to suit every single holiday you’re going to celebrate. The Lightbox is $59.99 at Michaels (use your 40-50% off coupons to reduce the price).

You’ve got the option to plug it into a USB - cool because many of the light switches we’ve got have a USB plug in, or power it with C batteries. Most of the time, you’re not going to need to plug it in. Using it as a sign is a fun, impactful way to create a countdown until vacation, until school ends, until Christmas - or display fun birthday messages, holiday greetings and more.

Included in the box is the lightbox and USB. Add-on options like the letters (make sure that you’re buying the right size for the light box, as there is the large and the mini sized lightbox) and fun words, icons, numbers and even more. These were hard to find at my local store, so I grabbed a few for around the same price as the store, on Amazon.

  • Heidi Swapp Basic Icons
  • Heidi Swapp Word Strips ‘Party’
  • Heidi Swapp Holiday Icons
  • Heidi Swapp Pink Background Alphabet

Rather than making a few trips to multiple locations around the city to find the pink background letters, I just ordered them on Amazon with another order Jamie was placing, and we’re excited to start the countdown to the holidays!

Make sure you’re following on INSTAGRAM this week, to get some inspiration about how to style your Lightbox
