Five Free Things to do in Edmonton #YEG This Summer

Lori Around Edmonton

Summer can get a little bit expensive with all of the time off from work and school and the weekend long trips. Here are some ideas to get you through those days, without breaking the bank. Check below for free events in Edmonton:

Wading at the Legislature Grounds
Wading is free and you can bring your own snacks for a free afternoon of fun. With four different pools to choose from there are many ways that you can keep cool. Bring an umbrella or grab a shady spot on the grass to get out of the heat.

Check out Movies on the Square
There are five dates scheduled for Movies on the Square this summer, starting in August. Check out the schedule here. Bring your own lawn chair - and snacks to avoid the temptation of five dollar Popsicles from the vendors. However, you might want to splurge on food trucks since there are some fabulous choices in the city.

Audience Participation | Wizard of Oz at the Library
Ditch the warm weather and head inside to the air conditioned Stanley Milner Library on July 28, 2012. This drop in showing of the Wizard of Oz is full of song, dance and costumes with the special Audience involved showing of the classic film. Contact Stanley Milner Library for more Information.

Movies in the Park | August 25 | How To Train Your Dragon
Grab your lawn chairs, snacks and blankets and head to Broadmoor Park for 8 pm to see a special outdoor screening of How to Train Your Dragon. This fun event is usually packed, so arrive early to get your spot in front.
